]]>The post My Challenge For You: Titus 2 appeared first on Creative Faith and Co.
]]>Titus 2:4 says, “These older women must train and teach the younger women…”
Don’t get offended by this Bible verse! We are all the older woman to someone and we are all the younger woman to someone!
Nancy DeMoss says, “But we are not running by ourselves. God intends for our lives to intersect with one another, to carry each other forward under the strong, victorious, banner of Christ.”
There are two Biblical examples I want to point out to you all.
Jesus has a fishing theme for his ministry. Right at the beginning in Matthew 4:18-22 Jesus is walking along the shore and calls his first disciples. He tells them, “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Jesus asked these 12 men to follow Him wherever he went. He taught, loved and served them. They traveled together, ate together, and spent a lot of time together.
Back in Jesus’ time people used nets to fish with. Nets are woven together. We also need to be weaving nets. Each of us is a string; and as we begin to talk and reach out to other women, our lives begin to intertwine. The strings connect to form a strong bond as we do life together and walk alongside one another.
Another verse in Matthew 13:47 reads, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind.”
In Luke chapter 1 we encounter two ladies who find out they are pregnant: Elizabeth and Mary. As I was studying this passage, something jumped out at me for the first time. The angel tells Mary something interesting: Elizabeth is pregnant too. Angel was encouraging Mary to reach out. Mary might have never known Elizabeth was pregnant until a much later time if it wasn’t for the angel. Mary then traveled 80-100 miles to visit Elizabeth and stay with her for a while.
I can only imagine what those three months were like with them together. Planning, dreaming, wondering, questioning, studying, learning from one another.
It can be a challenge to take the time to invest in others. It involves extreme sacrifice. Mary had to travel many miles… Elizabeth gave up time preparing for the baby to hang out with Mary. But in the end, it’s always worth it. All our tangled, messy lives create a beautiful tapestry when they are together.
You might be thinking you are not qualified enough to be a mentor to someone else or can’t do it, but God has and will equip you. He uses all of us in our brokenness to do things for His kingdom. Look at the guys God rested the whole fate of the church on – the 12 disciples. They were fishermen and tax collectors. They were not Bible scholars or highly educated men. They were the least qualified guys.
It can be scary and difficult. Like I said, it will involve sacrifice.
In Matthew 16:24-25 we read that Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
Nancy DeMoss says, “Yes, we will feel overwhelmed at times. Choosing to invest in other women or to receive another’s counsel and care involves cost and sacrifice. But none of that can compare with the refreshment, connectedness, and joy we receive from these relationships, not to mention the greater joy of glorifying God through fruitful lives.”
Start praying today about who you can reach up to and ask to be your mentor. Start praying about who you can reach down to and pour into.

]]>Have I shared how much I love Instagram with you all lately? It is my favorite way to connect with ladies all over the world. Diana from @midiariocreativoconjesus messaged me and asked if I would like to do a collaboration with her. Diana has the prettiest hand lettering EVER, and she has the sweetest heart for Jesus. With Father’s Day coming up, we created a devotion and images all about our Heavenly Father.
This printable is free and available in both English and Spanish. Diana and I each thought of two characteristics of God as a Father. Diana picked loving and protector. I focused on how God disciplines us and provides for us. These are characteristics of a good earthly dad, but are perfectly shown to us in our Heavenly Father.
I am lucky enough to have the world’s greatest dad ever. He’s not perfect, but he loves our family so much and works so hard. But I also know there are many people in the world who don’t have dads or their dad is not a good person or even present in their lives. However; we have a Heavenly Father who loves us SO much more than anyone else ever can.

Minerva and I met while attending the same church in Santiago. Check out the sweet photo of us below! Back in 2016, we had worked on planning a sleepover for the youth girls that included the Instagram photo frame.
I knew I wanted to create a freebie focused on Valentine’s Day somehow, so I prayed and prayed. Many ideas floated around in my head. Would I create one based on romantic love? God’s love for us? Love between friends? Love for serving? For several days, I couldn’t decide. I have been thinking a lot lately about the purpose of Creative Faith (read more in my About Me page here!). God’s Word is the most important thing, and I really wanted to encourage you ladies with…
4 easy ways to fall in love with God’s Word!
Saturday, February 3rd, I hosted another Bible journaling workshop at Community of Hope Church. We used this devotion to talk about Psalm 119. I also explained 5 ways to make hearts in your Bible. It was such a sweet time of fellowship. I have a few extra kits from the workshop that are full of goodies. Click here to grab one of the kits! They are going fast. To find out about more workshops, click here.
Click below to download the free devotion, six creative questions to help you think deeper about the content, and images to use in your traveler’s notebook or Bible journaling.
Creative Faith Freebie – Fall in Love with God’s Word
Creative Faith Freebie – Enamorate de la Palabra de Dios
It is our prayer these resources bring you closer to the Lord. I pray these four ideas encourage you to read the Bible more, grab friends to study with, create a welcoming environment and space to read, and never forget the Bible is God’s giant love letter to you. Pray to God, asking Him to put a desire to read the Bible in your heart.
Follow Minerva Valerio in Instagram here! (Also, send her a message if you want her to paint for you! She paints houses, cute bunnies, agendas for companies, probably family portraits, and more!)
You can also check out a YouTube video here using this freebie!
We have two other Valentine’s themed freebies. Here’s a hymn card from ‘Tis So Sweet. Here are some hearts that you can glue in your Bible margins.
Comment below if you’ve downloaded the devotion! Minerva and I cannot wait to see how you use this resource.

]]>The post Advent Freebie – Week 3: Joy appeared first on Creative Faith and Co.
]]>Each week of Advent has a different topical theme. Depending on what church you attend the week’s have a different focus. For week three, we are looking at joy. We have so many reasons to be full of joy, especially this time of year. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus here to earth to save us. How can we not be full of joy?!
As I researched Bible verses about joy, one stood out to me more than the rest and put a Christmas image in my head.
“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” Psalm 5:11
I immediately thought of a snow globe. The glass of the globe is like God spreading His protection over us. The house under the snow globe represents the people who are taking refuge in the Lord. It’s a joy globe.
In my Spanish and English Bible, I have gotten a chance to use the resources from this week. Joy is something I have been learning a lot about lately. I enjoy using resources I have created in my Bible. This week’s freebie has most of the pieces and phrases to Psalm 5:11, so you can use them to write out the verse in your journal or the margin of your Bible. Which words or phrases from this verse stick out to you?

]]>The post Guest Post: Breakfast with Jesus with Gayle appeared first on Creative Faith and Co.
]]>Before I printed it, and read the devotion, I began to think about what would breakfast with Jesus look like? What would I do? Would I be listening? Or would words be pouring out of my mouth? Would I even be too nervous to eat? I even imagined that I might not be able to say anything at all, but instead just marvel at His presence.
Then, I began to read. The disciples were just ordinary men and yet, they were having breakfast with their Risen Lord! From what I read, they were sitting and having a meal prepared by Jesus Himself. They were eating. They were talking. They were listening. They asked questions. Jesus gave them instructions. They pondered. They spent intimate, quality time having a meal and conversing with their Lord…their friend. Aren’t some of the best conversations over a meal?
Because I live alone and don’t work away from home, I am often by myself. I find myself talking with Jesus as I’m going about my day. His Word swirls through my head. Songs of worship play on repeat in my mind. I hear His voice whispering to my heart. I stay in pretty constant fellowship with Him.
But, when I read the question that Creative Faith wrote, “how often do I pause and soak in deep conversations with Him?”, that caused me to stop and ponder. How often is my time with Jesus just a casual conversation? A bagel in hand and a prayer on the way out the door? A few minutes reading my verse of the day as I sit at desk before work?
Hmmm. I have to go now…it’s time to pause…sit at the table, have deep conversation and “Breakfast With Jesus”!

For my traveler’s notebook, I used 4 pieces of card stock, folded in half, and stapled in the middle. When closed, it measures 8 x 4.25. Because I wanted to follow through with the “diner” theme that Creative Faith Co gave us in the cutables, I made a foldout “menu” section with the devotional and with the going deeper sections.
To make the foldout parts, I trimmed each of the cutables to size and then used washi tape on the back to hold them together in an accordion style foldout. I also printed extras of the journal pages and washi strips, so I’d have plenty of room to take notes…on fun decorative pages of course.
Let your creativity take over and have some fun as you make your devotional personally yours!

Gayle Bond is the creator of the Patio Ponderings Blog. She has a beautiful Instagram account, and loves spending time teaching Bible journaling, spending time with her family, writing, and encouraging women through social media. I had been praying for an Instagram friend, and Gayle and I bonded over a piece of tree washi tape. I asked her where she found it, and she said she would send me some. I was blown away by her kindness. God has created a beautiful community around Bible journaling. Thank you, Gayle, for sharing with us!

]]>The author of the article was looking for ideas on interesting ways to use washi tape. I wrote a blog article about 5 favorite ways to use washi tape, which you can read here. I forwarded her the article, as well as various pictures of Bible journaling pages I have used washi tape on.
She loved this page I created in Nehemiah, which also features a FREEBIE I created for Creative Faith. You can download and print these Scrabble letters here. These versatile Scrabble letters make the perfect addition to Bible journaling and more. I use them on Bible pages, in my prayer journal, on cards, and in my traveler’s notebooks. You can print them large or small. You could also print them on sticker paper, or vellum paper to give a completely different look.
Once the author, Allison, selected the page she liked, we emailed back and forth a few times. I did not have to send my Bible in to the magazine to be photographed. She sent me a list of criteria for what the picture should look like. There should be a white background, space around the edge, etc. so they could edit and crop the image as needed.
Then, I waited until the magazine came out! Creative Scrapbooker was nice enough to send me a free copy of the magazine. I freaked out with excitement when it landed on the doorstep. God is so good. He knows what encouragement we need. It amazes me that Creative Faith appears on the pages of a secular magazine.
The Bible page contains a verse that God has been reminding me about lately: joy.
“…for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” Nehemiah 8:10
This perfect reminder arrived at the perfect time, as God often works.
Check out Creative Scrapbooker magazine, and grab a copy at your local store to see Creative Faith in print. You can go to their website and search here to find a store that carries the magazine.
Have you downloaded the Scrabble letters yet? Have you used them in any projects? Let us know in the comments below! We would love to hear from you!

(Have you purchased something from the Creative Faith Etsy store before? Would love for you to leave us a positive review here.)
I was reading through the book of John over the summer, which I had read before, but John 21 took on a whole new meaning for me this time. I love the Bible because Hebrews 4:12 tells us the Word of God is living and active. It constantly teaches me something new. Bible journaling offers an amazing way for me to meditate and study the stories and lessons.
As I dug into John 21, there were so many interesting parts jumping out at me. Discouraged disciples, net fulls of fish, naked Peter leaping into the water, Jesus making them food… One verse in particular stood out from the rest.
“Now come and have some breakfast!” Jesus said. – John 21:12
I instantly thought about an old diner that served breakfast all day. (Also, images of the diner from a Cinderella Story popped into my head! Anyone else?) I began to think about what it would be like to have breakfast with Jesus, chatting over some bacon and eggs. That’s where this Breakfast with Jesus devotion kit came from. A desire to spend time with Jesus.
The kit comes with everything you need! It has:
Since I love journaling in notebooks, and there is a lot in this devotion to digest, I created a traveler’s notebook that I will use just for this kit! Check out the YouTube video here where I walk through a simple way of creating a traveler’s notebook without buying a special stapler.
