Produce In Me – Week 9

Produce in Me – Week 9

We have not one but two guest writers for week 9 and week 10 of the Produce in Me class!  The first wonderful friend is Angeline of Dots and Dust.  We did a collaboration together back in February called When it Rains.  (Check it out here!)  I am super excited to work with her again this week.

The very first week of Produce in Me, I created a list of “easier” and “harder” topics found in Galatians 5:22-23.  I had originally put gentleness under “easier.”  As I began to read Angeline’s devotion, I realized this is a character trait that the Holy Spirit has a whole lot more to teach me about.

I created a multi-layered spread in my traveler’s notebook this week.  For the top layer, I used watercolor colored pencils on top of velum to create a semi-see through page where I journaled what gentleness means to me.

For the second layer, I got to use some special gifts I received in the mail the past few weeks.  The sparkley washi tape came from Ashley (@ajproverbsthreefive), and the cute button flower paper clip came from Vonda (@vondameland).  I just adore the wonderful friends I’ve made through Instagram and Facebook and the Bible journaling community.  Friends who lift each other up, and occasionally spoil one another with fun goodies in the mail.

I also used the cute bear included in the artwork this week.  I was having fun playing with some bear puns people could use.  Feel free to add your own in the comments below!

Bear puns to try:

  • Bear with one another in love
  • Bearly gentle
  • Forgive me, and bear with me
  • Without gentleness, I am barbearic
  • Does this tree bear fruit?

The last page in the spread isn’t quite finished yet, but I plan on listing a few people that I need to ask forgiveness from when I have not been full of gentleness lately.  I did not want to post that personal journaling all over social media.  🙂

One of my favorite elements from the week is this verse card for Proverbs 15:1.  I loved using it in my journaling Bible.

Other Bible verses about gentleness to meditate over this week:

  • Matthew 5:5
  • Zephaniah 3:12
  • Philippians 4:5
  • 1 Peter 3:15
  • 1 Peter 3:3-4

Get excited for a second collaboration coming next week with a new Creative Faith author!
