Freebie: Learning & Growing

I am white. I don’t really know what to say. But I feel compelled to say something. To use this platform here at Creative Faith to say something.

This past week I have been learning about the racism present in our world, and specifically in the United States. Forgive me, Lord, for the fact that it took me this long to open my eyes. Forgive me, Lord, for all the times I have not spoken up about racism. It has been a week of reflecting, praying, learning, and listening.

I wanted to create a blog post with a free Bible journaling printable and a list of resources I have been using so that you can grow and learn, too.

The free Bible journaling printable is a collaboration with my friend Minerva in the Dominican Republic. She painted the beautiful artwork. Be sure to follow her on Instagram HERE. (We also did a collaboration in 2018 called Fall in Love with God’s Word. You can find that freebie HERE.) I used her color scheme as inspiration to create 10 verse cards, 4 journaling cards, and more surrounding themes of forgiveness, unity, and hope.

I also wanted to mention that I posted a picture on my Instagram feed with the hashtag, Black Lives Matter. I wanted to state that I didn’t realize using that hashtag connected me with the organization. I do believe black lives matter, but I do not believe in everything on the organization’s mission statement. I also wanted to quote @confidentcanvas on Instagram. I have been learning how it is offensive to say “all lives matter” based on the following quote: “Based on events occurring in the nation, people are not living as if ALL lives matter. They live as if some lives matter. So when we say black lives matter, it doesn’t mean others don’t matter, it means don’t forget us in the ‘all.'”

Her third video is all about outward action we can take. Watch it HERE.
