Favorite Bible Journaling Supplies

Here’s a list of some of my favorite Bible journaling supplies! I hope it helps you gather materials to spend creative time in God’s Word. I also have a whole YouTube video about my favorite Bible journaling supplies, which you can watch HERE.

Journaling Bibles: One of the first things you’ll need for Bible journaling is a Bible that has more space for notes and drawings and doodles.
THIS one on Amazon is my favorite. It’s the very first journaling Bible I ever got. It has a black cover
THIS one is called an Interleaved Journaling Bible. It has a whole blank page next to it, so if you don’t want to cover the Bible verses, it’s a great option.
Scripture journals are individual books of the Bible that have the text on one side and a blank spot on the other side for journaling or taking notes. HERE is the Old Testament set and HERE is the New Testament set. Starting in the book of John is another good option. You can pick up only the book of John HERE.

Notebooks: Another place I LOVE to journal is in notebooks! I find using a notebook is an easy place for a beginner to start if working in a Bible is too intimidating.
I created and designed my very own notebook that you can find on AMAZON. Click HERE to check it out.
I also love traveler’s notebooks that are plain. Click HERE for my favorite set, but be sure to note what kind of pages you want inside. Plain or dot grid are my favorites.

Pens: There’s lots of debate on pen usage in Bible journaling. Some pens and inks and whatnot bleed through. I am okay with that because my journaling Bibles are not my Bible I use for studying every morning. I love Micron pens, which you can get HERE. I also love these fun black gel pens from Amazon HERE.

Markers/highlighters: For highlighters, I cannot get over THIS SET from Amazon. You get 12 beautiful colors, including some that aren’t neon (which I LOVE) and they are CHEAP. I also love the 100 pack of Crayola supertips that are more affordable. You can find those HERE. I am also a sucker for Tombow dual-tip pens. They are more expensive, but they are so fun to play with. HERE is a wonderful set of Tomobow markers I love.

WATERCOLORS! This is one of my very favorite supplies to play with in my Bible journaling. It’s super easy to put water down and put color down as a pretty background. I have a whole YouTube video about how to use watercolors that you can watch HERE.
THIS set has the classic color scheme, and I’ve been using mine for YEARS.
THIS set is by the same brand as above, but it has a bit of a different
THIS set is metallic, and I love it because I can’t get enough of sparkly things.

Adhesives/glues:
My favorite glue I cannot find anymore, but they are called Prima Glue Pens. I also love Embellishment glue pens, which you can get HERE. They are made for scrapbooking and hold better than your basic Elmers glue stick. Also, do NOT get the Elmer’s tape runner from Walmart. It will not work. My favorite tape runner is from Tombow. You can find it HERE. HERE are refills for it!

Die cuts: Die cuts are fun premade images, and all you have to do is glue them down. I have a whole YouTube video about them, which you can find HERE.
Click HERE and HERE for some fun die cut sets on Amazon.

Stamps! I also love stamps. When I was in the Dominican Republic I used watercolors and 2 alphabet stamps for a really long time. I would put alphabet stamps up very high on a list of things to get. THIS alphabet stamp from Sweet ‘N Sassy stamps is a script alphabet, which means it can look like someone with beautiful handwriting wrote in your Bible. I also love THIS typewriter alphabet stamp set from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps. You will also need clear acrylic blocks to put your stamps on, which you can get HERE.

Ink: You will need some sort of ink to go along with your stamps. Stazon is a great permanent ink that you can get HERE. I like Versifine ink better, actually, which you can get HERE. It stamps cleaner and is a juicier ink pad. I found that Stazon goes dry quickly. Versifine ink is not permanent as much, so if you try and stamp on vellum paper or a slick surface, it won’t dry. But if you are only stamping on the Bible pages, then it’s perfect. I also LOVE these tiny chalk inks. Chalk ink does not bleed through the Bible. They are also smaller in size, which makes them easy to take on the go.

Washi tapes: My boss at the church says washi tape is my middle name. I LOVE using washi tape to decorate Bible journaling pages and tape in additional notes. Click HERE and HERE for two fun sets I found on Amazon.

Tab punch: I like adding tabs to the top of my pages and writing the date or theme or topic on the tab. You can find a great tab punch HERE. Be sure to always date your Bible journaling entries!

Printables: I also cannot forget to mention Bible journaling printables. I sell many sets in my Etsy shop that are perfect for printing and gluing into your Bible. One of my most popular printables is called Entwined. You can pick it up HERE. I also have a great series available in my Etsy shop called Seasons of Prayer. Check out my blog post HERE for links to all the sets that come in that series. I also have TONS of free printables. You can find all the free resources I’ve created on my blog HERE. Thank you for supporting my Etsy shop.

I hope this list has helped you come up with different supplies to try in Bible journaling. Leave any comments below with questions you have!
