Produce in Me: Week 5
Can I be honest with you guys for a minute? Week five was a challenge for me. Discouragement set in, I was busier than other weeks, and I felt uninspired. Plus I had video troubles, which is why this week’s English video is slightly different. To hear the full story, watch the video below. And on top of all that, God kept putting opportunities for me to test my patience this week (hello DEQ!), which is what week five focuses on.
This week’s devotion is all about traffic and road construction. What does this have to do with fruit? We have a fun acronym to help us with patience that spells out a fruit:
P.E.A.R. = Patience Empowers All Relationships

This week I tried something new and used an old map in my journaling. As I meditated on patience, I kept thinking about how we need patience to wait to go down certain roads in our lives.
“Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.” Psalm 25:4-5
I also used my mini photo printer this week in my traveler’s notebook. (Check it out here on Amazon!) In the devotion, you will read how I have been taking my long drives and turning them into awesome prayer times with God. I snapped this picture (don’t worry I was stopped!) when I drove into my new neighborhood. The simple black alpha stickers I used to spell “pray” came from the Container Store. Who knew they had such fun craft supplies?!
In my Bible this week, I created a super simple page in Ephesians 4. I used watercolor on the background and the tip-in that comes with week 5 of this class! I love the prompt that reads, “I need patience when…”
On the backside of the tip-in, I used some of my favorite Tim Holtz phrase stickers, as well as some fun new stamps from Tuesday Morning that I got for less than $2! I could use the “love” phrase to complete the Bible verse.
As you dive into week five of the class, I hope God can teach you something new. Use the times spent waiting, actively pursuing patience through prayer. Whether you are driving, dealing with kids, or standing in line, call out to God and ask Him to teach you something.
