We have come to a bittersweet place…the end of the summer series over Galatians 5:22-23. \u00a0Eleven weeks of diving deeper into the Bible, studying God’s Word, getting creative in new ways, and learning and growing in the Lord.<\/p>\n

This week we are learning how to put everything together in a yummy fruit salad. \u00a0We are reading about having deep, strong roots in God. \u00a0We are reflecting over the past 11 weeks and celebrating all God has taught us!<\/p>\n

So far this week I have just spent some time in my traveler’s notebook and not in my Bible (yet!). \u00a0It was an amazing time reflecting on all God has taught me over the past 11 weeks.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I went hiking with my family over the weekend, and I was struck by all the tall, strong trees. \u00a0Many of their roots were peeking up along the trail, and it made me think of this class.<\/p>\n

“They will be like a tree planted by the water<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that sends out its roots by the stream. \u00a0<\/span><\/span>It does not fear when heat comes;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>its leaves are always green. \u00a0<\/span><\/span>It has no worries in a year of drought\u00a0<\/span>and never fails to bear fruit.” \u00a0Jeremiah 17:8<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I also used the flamingo (a gift from a lovely friend! \u00a0Yay for happy mail!) to represent the same idea – standing tall and strong with the strength and help of the Lord.<\/p>\n

I also spent some time writing out the different topics we have studied each week. \u00a0Not only did I write them on the roots of the tree, but I also wrote them on this cute little journaling card. \u00a0I loved playing with watercolors to create the colorful background. \u00a0The washi tape added to the page, “Live a Colorful Life” is so perfect for this study.<\/p>\n

My mom is always telling me to eat a colorful plate of fruits and veggies. \u00a0This is the same with the fruit of the Spirit. \u00a0We must eat a variety of all of them in order to live healthy spiritual lives.<\/p>\n
